OUR STORY

Two Rivers Pastoral Charge is an Affirming Community of Faith in the United Church of Canada.  We include three congregations who gather in three different communities - Westfield United Church, Long Reach United Church, and Bayswater-Summerville United Church (church building: Summerville United Church).

We are a group of people who gather together to try and follow the way of Jesus Christ; a group of people who love and support one another in the good times, the challenging times, and the in-between times; a group of people who journey together as we try to be fully human together, to be who God created us to be.

Our three congregations came together to form Two Rivers Pastoral Charge in 1998.

Our History

Our Mission Statement

In 2017, we became Affirming - this means that we affirm the beloved-ness of all people, including people of every gender and every sexual orientation.

Our Inclusivity Statement

As a church, we try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, who said that the most important commandments were to love God with our whole selves and to love our neighbours as ourselves.

What We Believe

Our Minister sends out a mid-week e-mail message to the congregation every week (except when she is on vacation), including announcements about what is going on around our churches, and a short reflection about something that is going on in the world.

Our Annual Reports and minutes of the Official Board are publicly available through our website.

Minutes and Annual Reports

As several of the historic documents that have long been stored in the church office are now being moved for safekeeping at the regional archives, we've created an online archive.
